Width of your window?
Measure the full width, trim included, at the top, middle, and bottom. Windows are rarely square — we'll use the largest.
Where should the panels stack?
Open drapery "stacks" against the wall beside the glass. Add wall space on each side so panels clear the window — 10″ per side is typical.
Height of your window?
Measure top of trim to the sill (or to the floor for floor-length panels) at the left, middle, and right. We'll use the largest.
How high will the rod mount?
Mounting above the trim makes windows feel taller — 6–12″ above is classic. Panel length = window height + this rise.
